Arnold Palmer Visits Wexford Plantation’s New Signature Golf Course
Arnold Palmer was on Hilton Head Island yesterday to survey the finished renovations at his latest Signature Golf Course at Wexford Plantation. His day was spent touring the 18 holes of the new course, holding a golf clinic, and hitting the ceremonial first tee. The driver he used for the shot will now be framed and displayed in the Wexford Plantation clubhouse.
Nicknamed “The King”, Palmer is regarded as one of the greatest professional golf players in the history of the sport and has won seven major championships. In 1969, he won the inaugural edition of the Heritage Classic on the Harbour Town Golf Links here in Hilton Head and brought national attention to a relatively unknown area.
Wexford Plantation is a premier golf, yachting, and tennis community in the heart of Hilton Head Island.
